Learn how to work with animations in Unity
In this lesson we will take a look at the Animation View in Unity. The Animation View allows you to create and modify Animation Clips directly inside Unity.
Animation Clips are the building blocks of animation in Unity. Each clip is a contained component of animation and they can be edited and combined in many ways to produce full animations and interactions for your project. The Animation View works just like the graph editor youre already familiar with in your 3D animation package of choice. You can create keyframes on a graph edit interpolation and set pre/post behaviors for animation data such as loop and ping-pong.
In addition to animating movement the Animation View also allows you to animate variables of materials and components. You can also apply Animation Events at various points along the timeline which allow you to call function on your scripts at specific points in the animation.
In this lesson we will cover the basics of the Animation View and give you the foundation you need to begin using the Animation View on your next project.
