Are you looking for a challenging, super fun workout to seriously improve your alternate picking speed and accuracy? Then look no further!

This solo from Sixpounder by Children Of Bodom is one of the most infamous passages in their entire discography, which features heavy use of fast two-note-per-string alternate picking and some extremely devilish string-skipping arpeggios.

At first glance it may not look that challenging, but this solo requires super accurate alternate picking at an awkward tempo which can’t be “brute-forced”. I personally struggled to play this for many many years and it really forced me to put time into making my picking more accurate and controlled.

I really feel that players of all abilities can benefit from learning this solo and should have a pop at it, which is why I’ve included more backing tracks than usual – starting at 100 bpm and increasing in 10 bpm increments.
